About 360
360 Engineering Group was founded in 2013 by Elli Johannsson and Aaron Landrum. Eager to implement unique and innovative solutions to advanced engineering problems, the two quickly built a solid reputation for their creative process and focus on reducing waste to provide economical building solutions for their clients. As 360's reputation and client list grew, the two recruited top engineering talent to continue their drive to become the premier structural engineering firm in the region. Today, 360 Engineering has completed over 9,000 projects, employs 33 people, holds licenses in 49 states plus the District of Columbia, and operates four offices across Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas.

What's been a memorable project at 360 Engineering Group?
One project that stands out in my career is Maverick Hall at the University of Texas at Arlington. It was rewarding to be part of a project that will have a lasting impact on generations of students. Every building presents a unique challenge, and it's gratifying to know our work helps create spaces that makes a meaningful difference in people's lives.

If you weren't an engineer, what would you be doing?

I would probably still be doing some version of what I do now—bringing ideas, people, and places together and helping turn them into something real. I could see myself working in real estate development, architecture, urban design, or community building, especially on projects that strengthen neighborhoods, create meaningful gathering places, and add something lasting to the identity of a city. I have always been drawn to the space where design, culture, business, and civic life overlap.

What makes a great structural engineer?
A great structural engineer sees and internalizes the big picture while maintaining a keen eye for the details necessary to solve the problem effectively. While calculations and code knowledge are essential, the best engineers understand that every project is unique and requires thoughtful collaboration with architects, contractors, and owners to deliver the best solution

After moving from Iceland to Tulsa, I originally intended to spend the summer in Oklahoma before returning home to become an electrician. But the opportunities I found here changed my path. As I continued my education and worked in construction, I discovered that I enjoyed understanding not just how things were built, but why they worked. Managing my own construction crew allowed me to connect design with real-world construction. That experience sparked my passion for structural engineering, but I also really loved building with Legos as a child.

World Engineering Day
For the past six years, 360 Engineering Group has recognized World Engineering Day by giving back to our communities. We have packed pounds of food, sorted through sacks of donations, labeled formula, cleaned and handed out bags of groceries.

Besides meeting a critical community volunteer need, the annual event gives us an opportunity to spend time together outside of the office. It allows us to learn more about our coworkers and our community, which helps further our mission of building people who provide exceptional client service through innovation, creativity, flexibility and responsiveness.
